Scientific Method meets Modern Life
We asked Mrs. Pollard to give us more information on the EDP. She likes it because it is a process of planning, testing and improving upon ideas. She even gave us a great quote to use! " Every time you need to fix something (problem) or if you want to make something work better, you come up with an idea for how to solve that problem. For example: when something breaks, I need to find a solution for fixing it, I may have an idea for how to make it work but after testing that idea, I see that it does not work they way I thought it would. So, I think about what worked well and what did not. Then I make a new plan or idea based on those observations. Hopefully, after retesting my ideas I come up with a better product. I do think when I am cooking something new that didn't turn out the way I thought it would. I think about what I could add or take away from the dish and then re-test the recipe until I get it the way I want it. "
She says it's especially important in 3D printing because as you create your product , if something goes wrong, you can go through the steps to make improvements and not waste a lot of time or money trying to print something that doesn't work.
